With Spring cleaning season almost upon us this nifty little event is just the ticket. What could be better than clearing out your old stash and selling your findings for cash so that you can buy some new treasures for the stash! (Perhaps a little counter productive but fun nonetheless).
Bookings are now open for all those interested. Check out the Stash reHash blog or facebook event for more information.
This event is brought to you by the lovely Deidre of Shakey Isles.

Christchurch, predawn…

My flatmate, and long time friend, is in the process of madly trying to complete a “30 things to do before you turn 30″ list before her birthday next weekend, so I decided to offer to accompany her on a mission to watch the sunrise! (#28 on the list)
When you’ve got to get up that early in the morning you may as well do it properly, so we headed up the Port Hills in my home town, Christchurch, to get a nice vantage point… overestimating the travel time by an hour or so in the process (whoops), but we had a lovely time hanging out on top of the hill in the early hours while we waited for the sun to make an appearance, and were rewarded with some stunning views for our patience!

Night slipping…
The slip team had fun on Saturday night in the Square, installing a light up version of the crochet flowers. They were an instant hit with the festival artists and audience members, and by the sounds of it not many lasted through to the following morning! This wee gem of an idea was thanks to Bridget, and partner Julian (looking particularly dapper in his evening attire in the photos below).

More pics from the evening can be seen on facebook.
Growing, growing, gone…
Post Craft 2.0 my blog post updates on the slip crochet garden project (part of the Christchurch Arts Festival) have been, well, *ahem* slipping (if you’ll excuse the pun). It’s been a week now since installation and the flowers have been a real hit with festival go’ers, as can be seen in the before and after shots which encompass a mere 2 hour time lapse (or as long as it takes for an afternoon tea break at the Lotus Heart, overlooking the garden).

Photos courtesy of slip. More garden pics can been seen on the slip blog, and Simone Quentin de Manson’s blog.
