Busy busy!!

BSD1

Phew, the last few weeks have been busy busy! Last Saturday was Craft 2.0 up in Wellington, which is always a fun mission despite the 5am start to the day! I finally got to meet the lovely Elisabeth from The Sewphist, chat with Mel from Wildflower Designs and her fellow Napier crafty buddies, and the talented Colleen from Dear Colleen, to whose stall I made several visits, purchasing the lemon print above, and the ‘loser’ rosette below. I also treated myself to this lovely new reversable bag from Emma Makes

Then instead of a nice relaxing Sunday post craft show, I spent the day shifting office! For those of you that don’t already know as well as Black Swan Designs I also run a graphic design firm, Board of Design, with Lucy from felt! (I know, I’m a sucker for punishment!) We were previously based in New Regent Street, but were rapidly outgrowing our space there, and through a serious of recent serendipitous events came to purchase another graphic design firm and move into their premises in Bedford Row!

So week one in the new office has been manic to say the least, but I’m looking forward to everything settling down, and of course A Craft Affair, which is coming up in 3 odd weeks time! What’s that they say about no rest for the wicked?…

A weekend of crafty goodness and late night lanterns…

blackswantoast

A lovely weekend was had up in Wellington for Craft2.0. The fair wasn’t as busy as I’ve seen it in the past, but that just meant that there was more time to pop around and chat with some of the other lovely crafters and do a little shopping… what a shame!
My two crafty treats were one of Sweet William’s black swan prints (which has been on the to-buy list for quite some time now) and a super cute toast purse from Bad Animals, another one of my favourite indie crafters. I’m working my way up to one of her giant toast cushions! So with all those talented crafters in mind that were selling at the fair on Saturday, I’ve put together a little showcase over on the black swan facebook page

Showcase

To round off a lovely weekend the Chinese Lantern Festival was on back home in Christchurch, so despite some serious sleep deprivation incurred over the weekend and week leading up to Craft 2.0 I went along to take a few snaps which are over on flickr… thank you coffee!

Crafty purchases…

Craft2goodies

Well, another Craft 2.0 is done and dusted. It was a fun day up in Wellington, despite the 4.45am start to the day, and as usual there were some amazing goodies on display. I’m normally very restrained when it comes to spending the profits, but I lapsed a little this time… on the left Sweet William’s gorgeous Queenie brooch, and on the right Bad Animal’s super cute toast keyring!

Crafty goodness

Well, another Craft 2.0 is done and dusted… it was an amazing day down at Our City last Saturday, with the forecast snow nowhere in sight. As predicted, the keen punters were queued up well before 11am for the free goodie bags for a whole block down the road, and the people kept streaming through all day! A big thanks goes out to everyone who came along on the day, and to my helper Amy for making it possible for me to flit about all day talking to people and taking photos... roll on the next Craft 2.0 in Wellington, July 25th!

So, without further adue, here’s a little Craft 2.0 montage from the day…

Mmmm… cupcakes…

The lovely Deidre from Shaky Isles truly upped the anti with her beautifully merchandised display… (top left)

My display on the left… thanks to Lucy and Briar for helping with my new table runner.
